A. Mt. Asahidake
Mt. Asahidake is the only an active volcano in this area. It is fairly easy to get to the highest point of Hokkaido when the weather is good . However, be careful when it is rainy or foggy. Some people have lost their way. Please be sure to have the proper gear for climbing the mountain, such as good shoes, warm clothes, a raincoat, etc.

B. The "Susoaidaira "Course
The Susoaidaira Course is another fantastic trail in this area. You need to be prepared for trekking, especially taking care to wear suitable footwear. The weather may cause the ground to be soft. There are also very cold winds in this area . In a good season, Susoaedaira produce s a heavy growth of Geum Pentapetalum.

C. The "Sugatami" Course

This pristine place is on the middle of Mt. Asahidake , which is about 1,600 m above sea level. In the best season you may see Geum Pentapetalum, Primula Cuneifolia, Rhododendron Aureum, among other alpine flowers. You are sure to have a fantastic experience when you visit this area.

Trail completion time 1hour for a round trip (sandals and high-heel shoes are not recommended )
